Precision Under Pressure

Severe Service Industrial Valves

Williams Valve Ball

Ball valves are quarter-turn valves with a simple design, quick operation, and tight shut-off capabilities. They have a spherical ball with a bore through its center to control flow. When the bore is aligned with the pipeline, the valve is open, allowing unobstructed flow. A 90-degree rotation of the handle closes the valve, creating a tight seal.

They come in various configurations, including two-way, three-way, and multi-port designs. While excellent for on/off service, they can also be used for throttling, though this use is generally not recommended as prolonged partial opening can cause seat wear.

Gate Valve

Gate valves are engineered for minimal pressure loss when fully open and excel as on/off shut-off valves for bidirectional flow. While not designed for throttling, their robust construction makes them reliable in high-pressure applications involving steam, water, oil, vapor, and other fluids.

Rising stem models provide visual indication of valve position via a T-head connection to the flexible one-piece wedge. For space-constrained or buried installations, non-rising stem designs are available. Regardless of the stem type, guided wedges ensure consistent alignment and tight sealing.

globe valve

Globe valves have a superior ability to regulate flow thanks to their design that incorporates a movable disc that moves perpendicularly to a stationary ring seat. As the disc is raised or lowered, it progressively changes the size of the opening through which the fluid flows, allowing for precise control of the flow rate. When the disc is seated firmly against the ring seat, it creates a tight shut-off and minimizes leakage when fully closed.

check valve

Check valves are one-way valves preventing backflow in piping systems. They open with forward flow and close automatically when flow stops or reverses. Simple and reliable, they don't require external actuation. Common types include swing, lift, ball, and wafer checks, each suited for specific applications, pressure ratings, and fluid types.

Williams Valve ESOV

Emergency Shut-Off Valves (ESOV) are critical safety devices designed to rapidly stop fluid or gas flow in hazardous situations. They are essential in industries handling flammable or toxic materials, such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation.  These valves can be actuated pneumatically, hydraulically, electrically, or mechanically to provide a quick close. Fail-safe designs help ensure closure even in power loss scenarios.

Williams Valve Bronze Marine

Marine valves are designed for the demanding conditions of marine and naval environments. They commonly use corrosion-resistant materials bronze to withstand seawater exposure, or cast steel to handle high temperature processes. Design types include both globe and swing check valves, and they control the flow of fluids such as seawater, fuel, oil, and wastewater. Our marine valves are ABS Type Approved for demanding offshore service.
