In-House Industrial Valve Manufacturing

Williams Valve ShopAs an American valve manufacturer with over a century of experience, we offer comprehensive in-house industrial valve services. Our commitment to quality assurance guarantees that you will get a reliable valve solution that meets your specifications exactly.

At Williams Valve, we know our technicians are some of the best in the industry. Let us put our industrial valve expertise and knowledge to work for you.

On-Site Valve Manufacturing

Our New York fabrication facility is fully equipped with all essential tools and technology needed for high-quality industrial valve manufacturing. We employ a team of experienced technicians who have a combined experience of over 150 years in the valve industry.

You’ll find everything needed for precision fabrication in our machine shop:

  • Axis Vertical Turning Center allows us to efficiently machine large, complex, and often heavy valve bodies and components with exceptional accuracy and repeatability. Its vertical orientation is particularly advantageous for handling these larger parts.
  • CNC Horizontal Lathes are essential for the precision turning of cylindrical parts, such as valve stems, discs, and seats. CNC ensures tight tolerances and consistent quality across numerous identical parts.
  • Conventional Lathes provide our skilled machinists with the flexibility needed for smaller production runs, intricate modifications, and the creation of specialized features for your valves.
  • Milling Machines are critical for creating a variety of features on valve bodies and components beyond simple turning. This includes machining flanges, bolt holes, keyways, and other complex geometries required for proper valve function and connection.
  • Large Drill Presses help us accurately drill and tap holes in valve bodies and other components for assembly and connection to piping systems. Their size allows us to handle the substantial dimensions of many industrial valves.
  • Welding Station for joining valve body sections, applying specialized coatings, and performing modifications.

US-Made Valves for Department of Defense

Since 1918, we’ve been a trusted American manufacturer of critical, DoD-compliant valves for the US Navy and Coast Guard. Our marine valve designs are ABS Type Approved, including:

  • Cast Steel Marine T-Pat & Angle Globe
  • Bronze Marine T-Pat & Angle Globe
  • Marine Swing Check

We also manufacture critical gate, globe, and check valves to MilSpec standards, including:

  • MIL-V-18110 (gate)
  • MIL-V-22052 (globe)
  • MIL-V-18436 (swing check)

Custom Emergency Shut-Off Valve Fabrication

Our shop specializes in custom fabrication of Emergency Shut-Off valves (ESOV) . The manufacturing process begins with the design phase, where our engineering team collaborates with you to understand the operational parameters, safety standards, and integration needs of your system.

Once the design is finalized, we source the best type of material for your application based on temperature, pressure, and media. Our skilled machinists then precisely shape the valve body and internal components like the disc, seat, and stem, and our certified welders assemble the completed body sections. The unique “quick closing” mechanism is assembled and tested. This involves fitting of actuators, springs, and any other critical components needed for rapid shut-off in emergency situations.

Finally, your custom ESOV undergoes rigorous testing, including pressure testing and any other specific tests mandated by your application or industry standards. This ensures that your new valve meets our guarantee of quality assurance before it leaves our facility.

Industrial Valve Modification Services

Valve modification means we take an existing industrial valve and make specific changes to improve its integration within your system. This could be anything from changing out internal parts for different performance characteristics, adding special features, altering the connections to fit your piping, or adapting it to handle greater temperatures or pressures.

Because we do all this work right here in our shop, we have complete control over the process and can ensure the same high quality and attention to detail that goes into our new valve manufacturing. If your valve needs customization to meet your specific operational needs, we’ve got the expertise and the equipment to get it done right.

Our modification services include:

  • Trim Changes (Full Hard Facing, 316 Stainless Steel, 304 Stainless Steel, Alloy 20, Bronze)
  • End Connection Changes (Butt Weld End Schedule, RTJ, Flanged End Conversions, Threaded to Socketweld Ends)
  • Gear Operator Installation (Bevel and Worm)
  • Drain Connections & BypassesField Services
  • Packing & Gasket Changes
  • Extended Bonnets/Cryogenic Columns
  • Bolting Changes
  • Stem Extensions
  • Soft Seating
  • Automation – All Types
  • Special Cleaning – Oxygen & Chlorine Service
